Maintenance on Wilge River Water Pump Station

Maintenance of Wilge River Pump Station to affect water supply to some parts of Region 5 

Magalies Water has informed the City of Tshwane about an urgent maintenance work that has to be carried out tomorrow, 25 November  2021, and again on Thursday, 2 December 2021, at the Wilge River pump station in Bronkhorstspruit in Region 7, which supplies water to some Region 5 areas.

On both days, the maintenance will take 8 hours to complete (from 08h00 until 16h00) and thus the plant can only be operated at 50%  capacity.

According to Magalies Water, no water supply interruption is anticipated, however, residents in the following areas are urged to use water  sparingly to avoid any possible outages: 

• Chris Hani Hostel
• Cullinan
• Petra Diamond Mine · Rayton
• Refilwe
• Zonderwater Prison

The City of Tshwane sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience that may be encountered. All reservoirs in the affected areas will be filled to capacity prior to the shutdown.
