Low water levels in Rooihuiskraal Reservoir lead to supply interruption
The City of Tshwane urges residents in and around Rooihuiskraal to conserve the usage of water following the low levels detected in the Rooihuiskraal Resevoir.
Our technicians are working hard to determine the cause of the drop at the reservoir, however, residents are in the meantime advised to use water sparingly in order to avoid further water shortages.
Some of the residents in the high lying areas that are affected reside in the following streets:
- Blue Jay
- Jan Kemp
- Suikerbekkie
- Berghaan and
- Avocet.
The City is supplying residents of Rooihuiskraal with water through water tankers which are stationed at an open area near Rooihuiskraal Clinic and Sasol garage respectively.
Residents are reminded that in terms of the partial restrictions that we announced in May, residents are not allowed to irrigate gardens with a hosepipe or sprinkler between 11:00 and 16:00. The restrictions are applicable throughout the year, regardless of the season we are in.
The City of Tshwane therefore urges consumers to continue conserving water by using it wisely until the Rooihuiskraal Reservoir recovers and water level improves.
