Equipment failure at Rand Water’s Mapleton Booster Station

Equipment failure at Rand Water’s Mapleton Booster Station affects most parts of Tshwane

Rand Water has notified the City of Tshwane about emergency repairs that they need to carry- out at its Mapleton Booster Station following equipment failure. The said station feeds the Vlakfontein & Bronberg Reservoirs that supply water to the City of Tshwane.

According to the water utility, repairs commenced at 17h00 this afternoon and are anticipated to take 14 hours to conclude. It is, however, unfortunate that this has impacted Rand Water’s pumping capacity at the station which is currently operating at 58% (430 MI per day).
