City extends operating hours at Licensing Centres

The City of Tshwane’s Roads and Transport Department would like to inform prospective and current drivers alike, that the operating hours of licensing centres will be extended with effect from Saturday, December 7 2019.

NB: The extended operating hours will commence from the 07 December 2019 until 01 February 2020 at selected centres within the municipality’s jurisdiction, will open at 8h00 – close at 15h00 and this is applicable to Saturdays ONLY.

This arrangement is meant to ensure that customers are catered for (during the festive recess) and not turned away during this busy period

Services that will be rendered at the identified licensing centres are:

renewal of driving license cards
application and testing for learners licenses
registration and licensing of motor vehicles.

Hereunder is the list of centres that will extend operation hours during the festive season:

LICENSING CENTRE	SERVICES	OPERATING HOURS
AKASIA	– Driving license card renewal by appointment. – Application for temporary driving licenses subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate. No need for an appointment. – Application and testing for learner license via online booking system. – Licensing and registration of motor vehicles at public walk-in facilities.	The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.
CENTURION	– Driving license card renewal by appointment. – Application for temporary driving licenses subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate. No need for an appointment. – Application and testing for learner license via online booking system. – Licensing and registration of motor vehicles at public walk-in facilities.	The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.
WATLOO	– Driving license card renewal by appointment. – Application for temporary driving licenses subject to submission of a valid optometrist certificate . No need for an appointment. – Application and testing for learner license via online booking system.	The offices will open at 08:00 and close at 15:00 on Saturday.
