Call for Childhood Development Centres to apply for 2017/18 Funding

The City of Tshwane’s Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community and Social Development Services Councillor (Cllr) Ntsiki Mokhotho is inviting Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), Early Childhood Development Centres, Crèches, Day Care Centres and Early Learning Centres whose core function is to look into the productive life, future well-being and learning of children to apply for a grant-in-aid funding for the 2017/18 Financial Year.
The City of Tshwane believes in ensuring proper advancement of early childhood development. For that reason we have deemed it fit as the City to fund some NPO centres whose focus is on the development of children at an early stage of growth.
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Centres must be registered as Not for Profit Organisation (NPO).
- Centres must have valid Child Care Certificate.
- Centres must have valid Food Preparation Certificate.
- Centres must be registered as partial care facilities as stipulated in the Children’s Act (Act 38 of 2005).
- Centres must be in existence for two years or more.
- Centres must have a management committee or board members.
- Centres that have received funding from the City of Tshwane in the past will not qualify.
- Centres must have more than 20 children.
- The names and full particulars of each child admitted in the centre must be reflected on the daily attendance register (the daily attendance register must be updated regularly).
- Centres must have proper systems in place, including proper administration and record keeping.
- Each child in the centre must have a file with proof of age (e.g. copy of birth certificate or baptismal certificate or clinic card) and date of admission (e.g. signed application form).
- Centres must submit asset inventory, attached to the Business plan.
Application forms are available from City of Tshwane Social Workers and the Office of the Speaker.
Completed application forms must be handed in at the offices of the Social Workers and at the Regional Coordinators at the addresses below:

The closing date for applications is December 21 2017 at 12:00. In the event the applicants do not receive communication from the City within 21 days from the closing date it will automatically mean that the application was unsuccessful.
