‘Guardian angel’ feeds Centurion homeless
“Thank God for Mama Mogale who is a guardian angel to us. Even a basic meal such as pap is made with love by her and the team. They are feeding our souls.”
About 200 homeless people in Centurion were fed at the Lyttelton sports park on Monday by a local organisation.
Since 1 August, Pastor Catherine Mogale and her team from Kopano Manyano God The Founder centre were mandated by the Tshwane metro to help feed the homeless community in Lyttelton.
The centre was founded 22 years ago by Mogale and is situated in the Pretoria CBD where they serve the community.
Every day Mogale along with Pastor Kenny Nziramasaga, Johnny Seeman and Akhona Silwana meet up at the Lyttelton sports park where they hand out food parcels.
The 200 homeless people get breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The people housed at the Lyttelton art gallery are also fed.
Both groups were moved to these locations at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak.
