City to trim trees causing power outage
Tomorrow, November 15 2018, the City of Tshwane will remove tree branches around overhead power lines in some of the suburbs southwest of Pretoria CBD, and this trimming operation will lead to an organised power outage.
The clearing of powerlines in the area is an urgent necessity given that the sagging overhead power lines – that have been as a result of wind, rain or lighting – are now causing regular area outages.
The emergency tree trimming will require the City’s Region 4 electricity section time to cautiously cut off trees and repair or adjust the powerlines. This means that electricity will have to be switched off from 8:00 until 16:00 in the Centurion suburbs and the below nearby areas:
- Erasmia
- Christoberg
It is hoped that through this maintenance work, residents in the abovementioned areas – as well as in other Regions within the City where the trimming operation is being implemented – will notice a decrease in incidents of power outages.
The City apologises to all its customers for the inconvenience that may be caused by the temporary disruption of power supply.
