TEDx back at 012central with a stellar line up
TEDxPretoria announced its stellar line up of thought leaders revealing mind-bending solutions to everyday problems. Expect to be moved, entertained and inspired by local speakers, performers and artists showcasing ‘ideas worth spreading’.
The independently organised event, licensed by TED, will feature local voices and TED Talks videos under the theme “Unapologetic”.
In keeping with the theme of disruption, the venue for this year’s Tedx Pretoria fits the bill perfectly. Crafted out of a forgotten warehouse in the centre of the capital city, 012central has disrupted the traditional conservative viewpoints of life in the city centre. Through its innovative events, city walks and markets, as well as the hip African Beer Emporium and a range of eclectic tenants, 012central is firmly sculpting out a brave new aura in the city centre. Through a mixture of exceptional design and quirky street art, it has firmly established itself as the newest, brightest and most talked-about venue in the city.
“We see 012central as not your typical everyday venue. Born out of the urban change that City Property wants to use to bring people back to the CBD, 012central is the perfect venue to disrupt the mundane everyday city experience. It is effective, new and part of a tapestry of renewal that is being woven in the city centre, full of hope and pride and showcasing some of the best that the capital has to offer,” said Jeffrey Wapnick, managing director of City Property.
With a deluge of nearly a hundred nominations, the final selection of 15 speakers was nothing short of challenging. To this end, we are proud to announce our 2017 speakers.
