Youth Movements of the Capital City
Every year around June 16, we, the youth are often advised to create our own opportunities because reality is that most of us are waiting for some institution to employ us in a country with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world.
Generation x youth are the revolutionaries, we are the exposed developing fresh ideas to change our worldviews.

NERDAfrica
Is a social movement that seeks to create platforms of collaboration for young people across the African continent.
The work of the network is centred on the use of enterprise, education, and innovation for social change. The name, NERDAfrica, seeks to re-popularise the culture of intellectualism among young people; to do away with ignorance and uphold the importance knowledge in achieving the African Dream.
NERDAfrica believes in an inside-out approach to development; where we go into communities and assist the stakeholders find viable solutions to their challenges by using resources available to them. Our work is specific to each community or youth grouping we work with.
Long story SHORT – African Literature goes Digital
Long story SHORT will manifest itself through a series of live readings (to be recorded) at community libraries in Pretoria where a capable actor/ actress will read a short story/ excerpt of a novel by an African writer for later packaging into literary podcasts for mobile & online platforms.

Capital Arts Revolution
Capital Arts Revolution is a collective of young Artists from all corners of the country, the continent and the world who are currently living and working in the capital city who aim to bring about an artistic revival in the capital city.

The Viva Foundation of South Africa
Non Profit Public Benefit Organisation whose vision is to be instrumental in the transformation of informal settlements and to establish service hubs in the midst of informal settlements as platforms for Viva and Partners to meet the felt and expressed needs of the surrounding community.
Viva Foundation hosts art festivals in Mamelodi painting shacks.
Roast Re:public
They roast and sell tasty coffee. Amazing citizens buy it. Underprivileged children get sent to school from the proceeds.
Roast Re:public stands for coffee for all, education for all, trading a cup of coffee for a day at school.

Agape Youth Movement
Agape Youth Movement (AYM) is the most impactful and fastest growing youth-led organisation in South Africa whose vision is to advocate for youth and community development.
Over the years, AYM has demonstrated its proficiency of successfully and cost-effectively organising local economic development programs, active citizenry programs and many other projects that were purposefully harmonized with the organisation’s aims and objectives.
Agape Youth Movement is hosting a Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk on the 27th of June 2015.
Pretoria Street Photography
Pretoria Street Photography is a society of Street photographers who capture and document the urban human-scapes of the Capital City, encapsulating the daily lives of Tshwane’s society in using the photographic craft.
They have been featured in the 40 Great Projects in the Capital publication which is aimed at showcasing initiatives by both the municipality, private sector and civil society.

Cool Capital 2014
The Cool Capital Biennale is a citizen driven initiative to bring creativity to the City of Pretoria. Many creative interventions are envisaged. The next biennale will be from 23 September – 31 October 2015.
Any ideas or interventions from individuals or groups are welcome.
Capital Collective
The Capital Collective is a private initiative with the aim to accelerate the rejuvenation and growth of the CBD by encouraging combined public and private efforts.
It is a sharing platform to stimulate conversation and collaboration. It is about bringing people together who want to invest, share ideas, make ideas come to life, sponsor or support new initiatives in the city.

We Want Films Club
We Want Films Club is a once-a-month get-together of filmmakes and film fanatics from Pretoria where they watch Tshwane made films.
