City of Tshwane Addresses Power Outages Following Severe Weather
In response to the recent thunderstorms that swept through Tshwane, causing significant damage and widespread power outages, the City has deployed its technical teams to affected areas to restore electricity services.
The violent storm resulted in the uprooting of trees and the collapse of branches onto roads and power lines, triggering electrical faults that left various parts of Tshwane in darkness.
As of this morning, the City’s technicians have been stretched thin due to the vast areas they need to cover and the high number of power outages. The backlog in restoring power has grown, compounded by the need to ensure the safety of the repair teams, who are unable to work in wet or stormy conditions for their own protection.
Additionally, members of the Mayoral Committee have been sent to inspect the storm’s impact in different areas. Their assessment includes evaluating homes severely affected by the storm, such as those where roofs were blown off by high winds.
The City of Tshwane is working diligently to restore power as quickly as possible and asks residents for their continued patience during this challenging period. Regular updates on the progress of repairs will be provided.
The City sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused and remains committed to restoring services to all affected residents.
