Picnic with a View
The Union Buildings itself is not open to the public, but the lush gardens surrounding the buildings offers a truly amazing view over the city.
The lawn, flowers and indigenous trees in the gardens provide a lovely haven of peace and quiet amidst Pretoria central’s buzzing hustle and bustle.

Share the Sunset
Fort Klapperkop was the third fort erected before the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War to protect Pretoria.
The fort has been restored and arranged as a museum with picnic and braai areas.
The view from the Fort is beautiful. Watch the sun set over the Voortrekker Monument and the lights of Freedom Park with the city skyline at its backdrop.
