Pretoria Students’ Bookshops

Pretoria is home to many universities and colleges and offers plenty of choice when it comes to the purchasing of textbooks and study materials.

The University of Pretoria and Tshwane University of Technology have their own student bookstore on campus that focuses on providing course textbooks and scholarly books, but there are many options and large chain as well as smaller independent bookstores situated through-out Pretoria.

Bookmark

Situated on its Hatfield campus, Bookmark is the official bookstore of the University of Pretoria. The bookstore offers prescribed academic books, a wide selection of recommended academic books as well as a contemporary collection of factual and general books & magazines.

Pretoria Book Exchange

A popular destination to buy, sell and exchange new and good quality used books, this shop also do faxing, photo-copies and vehicle license renewals.

Protea Bookshop

With its publishing house in Pretoria and more than 400 titles to their name, Protea is a big name in the South African publishing industry and has a bookstore in Burnett Street, Hatfield.

Protea offers books ranging from school material to tertiary and theological study material, as well as Africana Books.

Wannabee

Wannabee is the official merchandise supplier of the University of Pretoria, as well as manufactures of clothing for groups according to their specifications.

As well as supply UP blazers and pocket badges, UP sportswear, laboratory coats, sports bags and satchels, recreational wear and corporate gifts, Wannabee also does embroidery, printing, adjustments and dry-cleaning.

Juta’s Bookshop

South Africa’s largest publisher of textbooks in the fields of commerce, accounting, communications, social science, health, education and law, Juta’s Bookshops supply a wide variety of publications across the counter and via personal consulting services.

There are three Juta bookshops situated in Pretoria, the first in Hatfield Plaza in Burnett Street, Hatfield close to the University of Pretoria’s Hatfield campus, the other in Tshwane University of Technology’s Pretoria West campus as well as Arcadia campus.
