Jacarandas

West Park

This small but beautiful park situated in Capital Park is the ideal place to enjoy the bloom of the jacaranda trees during spring.

Pretoria National Botanical Garden

The Pretoria National Botanical Garden is home to a diversity of natural vegetation.

The 76 ha park is situated in the East of Pretoria and home to the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). Paved nature trails provides a platform for visitor to enjoy the fauna and flora. Events are often hosted in the gardens and there is a restaurant on the premises.

Burgers Park

This is the oldest park in Pretoria. Completed in in 1892 the park is now a national monument. Situated adjacent to Melrose House, Burgers park is perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The park offers a large fish pond with fountains, a florarium, a kiosk and a statue of President Burgers.

Jan Celliers Park

Offering a spectacular view of the city, Jan Celliers Park, also known as Protea Park, commemorates the Afrikaans poet Jan FE Celliers. The park contains indigenous plants and water features.

Springbok Park

This is one of Pretoria’s most attractive and recognised open-air recreational areas and national monument. Previously known as Grosvenor Park, the 3 hectare indigenous wooded park is situated in Hatfield. The features indigenous plants and is open to the public on a 24 hour basis. There is also a Dros Restaurant situated on the premises.

The Venning Rose Park

Previously known as Eastwood Square, The Venning Rose Park features structured gardens, over 3 000 rose bushes, water features, a tea garden and restaurant. The name “Venning Park” honours John Harold Venning, former Municipal Director of Parks, who retired in 1940.

Magnolia Dell

Magnolia Dell is one of Pretoria’s most popular and beautiful parks. A venue for arts and crafts markets, the park is a favorite among all city residents.

The Park was laid out by Harry Bruinslich, director of parks and recreation of the council of Pretoria in 1967. When the Magnolia trees are in bloom around spring time, the Park is the perfect to meet with friends and enjoy the outdoors.
