Le Mpendulo

Le Mpendulo is a young Ndebele woman born from the land of melodies, Mamelodi, Pretoria, South Africa. She can best be described as an Artist. When she is not writing, playing her guitar and singing, you’ll find her surrounded by nature in peace and tranquility, painting and drawing, taking pictures, designing, modeling and everything else that comes with being a right brainer. She is a product of different Art disciplines that have influenced her from humble beginnings to the ever evolving creative she is.

She enrolled at Tshwane University of Technology, Arts Campus, where she was exposed to the different fields Art. This introduced her to a whole new culture and inspired a whole new sound where a fusion of isiNdebele, Jazz, Neo Soul and Afro pop all harmoniously mix together to produce music that’s unique, intriguing and soul shaking through her voice and guitar chords.

Achievements

Continuing in her career in music, Le Mpendulo has been honored to achieve the following:

• Mentored at the City of Tshwane HIV/AIDS awareness camp
• Performed at the Afro Marimba Jazz festival in Oslo Norway, Europe
• Won SA Indies Music Week 2016
• Performed at South African leading radio station Metro FM with Glen Lewis and Melanie Bala
• Performed live On Power FM with Paul Mnisi
• Performed live on SABC Morning Live
• Recorded music in South Africa and Atlanta USA
• Performed at one of the biggest music festivals in the world, SXSW
• Released a single “Papape” and an EP “Itjhada” on all digital streams and selected radio stations
• Toured Nationally:
  • JackBudha , Pretoria
  • The Crypt Jazz, Cape Town
  • Jazz in The Native Yards, Cape Town
  • Jazzy Rainbow, Durban
• Performed live at “Rhythmic Roundtrip” Tshwane FM
• Performed and Unplugged at “Sivukile Breakfast Show” on SABC, Ikwekwezi FM with Mbuzana & R-Voonah

OBJECTIVES

• I aim to influence young lives positively through music.
• To cultivate and plant life, love and urban African culture in respect of good morals and values.
• To eliminate ill social norms and superstitions to the youth through art.
• To establish a brand that will not only change lives positively, but also help young aspiring artists to realize and pursue a career in art.
