The City of Tshwane is set to conduct essential water infrastructure work over two days on the 1st and 2nd of October 2024
Impacting different areas in the region. As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the water supply network, technicians will connect a newly constructed 110 mm water pipe in Rosslyn East Extension 2 to an existing 160 mm diameter pipeline along Hendrik van Eck Street on Tuesday, 1 October 2024.

Conservation is critical to ensuring the city’s water resources remain stable, and residents are reminded of key water-saving tips that can make a significant difference.
Water Conservation Tips for All Residents:
- Avoid watering gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00.
- Refrain from washing vehicles with hosepipes.
- Do not fill swimming pools.
- Install low-flow showerheads and tap aerators.
- Opt for dual-flush toilet cisterns.
- Plant drought-resistant or indigenous shrubs.
- Use a broom instead of a hosepipe to clean driveways or patios.
- Collect rainwater for garden use or washing cars.
- Cover swimming pools to minimize evaporation.
- Take short showers instead of baths.
- Turn off running taps while brushing teeth or shaving.
- Regularly check for leaks in taps and toilets.
- Use greywater to water gardens and flush toilets.
By incorporating these practices into daily routines, residents can play a vital role in water conservation and help maintain stable water levels. The city also reminds residents who still have access to water to use it sparingly and avoid filling storage tanks to allow the system to stabilize.
