Profile

The Project Manager identifies the central problem to solve and determines, with input from the Project Sponsor and project stakeholders, how to tackle it: what the project’s objectives and scope will be and which activities will deliver the desired results. He / She then plans and schedules tasks, oversees day-to-day execution, and monitors progress until she evaluates performance, brings the project to a close, and captures the lessons learned. The project manager receives authority from the sponsor. In many respects, she’s like a traditional manager because she must:

• Project Management plans implemented and set outcomes achieved
• Project Management material and content developed and piloted in appropriate area.
• Resistance and barriers to the project initiative resolved through assessments and end user feedback
• Project initiative managed within scope, budget and timelines
• Impact of project initiative measured through post implementation review
• Ownership successfully transferred to business areas (e.g. HR), i.e. these areas are educated regarding the project initiative and capable of sustaining the project.

Education and experience:

3 year degree

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field

Experience working with agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, LSD, and FDD
