Jakaranda Liggiesfees
On the 19th of December 2014, ShowMe saw colourful lights artfully decorated around gardens and the 21 houses that care for abused children at the Jakaranda Kinderhuis Liggiefees.
Situated in a quiet neighbourhood in Eastlynn, supporters of the light festival came in huge numbers to watch the Christmas lights. It was so beautiful, the lights were the sparkling stars of the evening, except, instead of pointing to Orion; families were taking pictures of themselves standing next to shaped glittering hearts, jingle bells and compassionate words of love and faith – which was so enchanting.
One of the aims of the Christmas Light Festival is to emphasise the real Christmas message to both the children of the home and the public. The festival brought a lot of families together, further creating a bigger family for the Jakaranda Children’s Home. With such warmth in the air, we would have stayed buying goods at the market and danced to the live music had it not been for the rain.
We hope you have yourselves a merry Christmas!
