The day after the State of the Capital Address on a Friday morning, the media and the mayor gathered at Freedom Park for a thorough review of the speech.
The Mayor out-lined plans to make Tshwane an African city of excellence, we already notice these changes in the CBD – we now have diverse transportation in the capital!

Pretoria is the fastest growing city in the country!
Some of the positive changes highlighted were:
– The City of Tshwane’s Free Wi-Fi project which the mayor says will be available in townships, that we should get to a point where there is Wi-Fi connection in every street.
– Social housing rental unit’s development.
– A closer working relationship with informal traders. So far a 21% target has been reached with co-operative vendors.
– The Tshepo 10 000 programme contributing to local economic development
– Tshwane’s transport system is more convenient, with the A Re Yeng already driving from the CBD to Hatfield, and, we can now fly from Wonderboom Airport to Cape Town!
