Bulls Strike Back Bigtime!
Bulls Strike Back Bigtime!
The Bulls ended the Lions five match winning streak at 35-33 win with an added bonus point on Saturday at Loftus in Pretoria.
It was the second Derby of 2015 between the two teams. The Vodacom Bulls really aimed to stay in the top six on the overall log. They managed exactly that and ensured they did not lose their first-ever home game against their neighbours, the Emirates Lions.
The Bulls outscored the Lions by four tries to three in the match and the bonus point victory moved them to the top of the South African Conference.
They overtake the ranking leader, the Stormers, who dropped down to seventh place. There was a huge, unexpected, crowd for the derby at Loftus. They were rewarded with seven tries and a feast of talent coming from the players’ side who wanted to impress all.
Next week the Bulls have a rest before they start their tour of New Zealand and Australia with a match against the Blues in Auckland. The Lions will host the Highlanders at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.
