“Monna ke nku” – A Man is a Sheep

This thought-provoking exhibition draws from the Sepedi idiom “monna ke nku o llela teng” — “a man is a sheep; he cries silently.” It explores the silence often expected of men and the emotional weight that silence can carry.

Through themes of masculinity vulnerability love fatherhood mythology and more the exhibition invites reflection on what it means to be a man — and beyond that what it means to be an artist navigating identity expression and societal roles.

The sheep a complex and symbolic creature becomes a metaphor for both the silent man and the overlooked artist — the black sheep.
