New Brighton – we are giving back to your community
12 determined neighbourhood watch members from the New Brighton community did a site visit to Atlas Security. The aim of this was to hear the concerns, strengths and daily issues the neighbourhood watch are faced with. Atlas Security is on a mission to give back to the community.
One of the elders and most respected member walks some of the most dangerous streets along with 15 other neighbourhood watch members every morning. They are passionate and committed to ensuring a safer environment for the community. In the past two months since the neighbourhood watch group was established, they have experienced a few robberies and been able to deter potential robberies with their visibility in and around the area.
The group aim at keeping women and children safe – making sure that when they wait for transport they do not become targets. The police have since confirmed that the crime has decreased and we are all thankful for that.
Monty Montgomery, Atlas Operations Manager together with Bernadette Nel-Naude, Community Development Manager – were able to share their expertise with the neighbourhood watch. Like with all neighbourhood watch groups, Atlas remains committed to empower, support and guide them. Atlas Security thank them for their willingness and bravery to take back our streets – we wish them well as a new established neighbourhood watch group.
