Turtle Hatchlings Onshore Rescue
From mid to late February every year, baby hatchlings start to strand on our beaches again.
A turtle NEVER comes ashore unless it is nesting or in trouble and these hatchlings are more than likely in trouble:
- Hypothermia
- Dehydration
- Injury
No turtle should be put back into the water especially a hatchling. Turtles breathe air so are safe out of the water.
Pick it up, call us on 0833001663, keep it dry, and bring it to safety.
We will talk you through details while we organise a lift to the nearest rescue point or Two Oceans Aquarium or Bay World PE.
