Lunchbox Theatre Tree Show 2012
On Monday 25th June Lunchbox Theatre gave a select audience a taste of our brand new Tree Show before we head to The National Arts Festival where we will be “greening” Grahamstown.
The Tree Show is lively and entertaining and reminds the audience about the importance of indigenous trees and the vital role they play in our lives.
The story follows a group of townsfolk who are eagerly preparing for a wedding by beautifying the ceremony area while singing, dancing and planting trees. An old man rests under the shade of a magical tree.
Enter the greedy developers who wish to disrupt the ceremony and destroy the natural beauty of the town.
Using song, dance and interactive storytelling Lunchbox Theatre enthralls the audience with the entertaining tale of how the wedding party, with the help of a little bit of magic, challenge the developers to conserve our natural environment.
After each show the audience members assist the Lunchbox Theatre team in the planting of an indigenous tree suited to the area. A beautiful Wild Plum was planted at Greenwood Primary on Monday.
The Tree Show developed & written by Stuart Palmer from the Lunchbox Team.
