Dedicated to the care of all equines
Bitou Horse Welfare is a volunteer based, non-profit organization. We are dedicated to providing emergency relief, care, shelter, rehabilitation & adoption services to any abused, neglected, abandoned or unwanted horses, donkeys and mules in the Plettenberg Bay area.
Our team handle all aspects of the organization, answering calls by the general public, inspections of equines in the logging industry, sterilization & education in the townships with inoculations, medication & parasite control, collection and transport of strays, fundraising and administration work.
Our policy is to “Educate rather than Confiscate” wherever possible, however as a last resort, neglected equines will be confiscated, rehabilitated and then re-homed according to the Animal Protection Act.
Bitou Horse Welfare was registered as a Non-Profit Organization in October 2008. Non-Profit Organization Number: 065-128
