Zipline Mayor may well do it again
“This is the best adrenaline shot you can ever have, anywhere in the world – this was fun!”
These are not the words one would expect from someone with a fear of heights, but it is indeed what Memory Booysen, Garden Route District Municipality Mayor, said after riding the longest over-ocean zip line in the world at Mossel Bay.
His wife, Elethu, can take the credit for persuading him to face his fears and find the thrill.
The next adventures she plans for him include bungee jumping and whale watching.
The Mossel Bay Zipline was inaugurated on 25 January. It is 90m above sea level and adrenaline junkies can reach a speed of 90km/h as they zip along.
