Surfers Ball Returns to Support Ocean Organizations
Plettenberg Bay residents and visitors are gearing up for the highly anticipated return of the Surfers Ball, a charitable event dedicated to raising funds for ocean-related organizations.
After a hiatus, this year’s ball is set to take place on Central Beach on 8 December from 18:00 until midnight.
Initiated by local businesses and organizations, the event aims to support causes such as Adopt a Surfer NPC, Plett Shark Spotters, the Empowered Programme, and Mel Makes Waves’ research.
These organizations, focused on social upliftment, education, safety, and conservation, embody a commitment to preserving our marine heritage.
“The Surfers Ball is more than just a celebration; it’s a collective effort towards a brighter future,” organizers emphasized. “Every ticket purchased, every bid in the auction, and every cheer for the bands and DJs contributes to safeguarding our oceans.”
The ball, known for its unique blend of elegance and oceanic flair, encourages attendees to embrace the ‘Surf Sophisticate’ style. Ladies are invited to dress in their finest, while gentlemen can opt for blazers and board shorts, maintaining the relaxed vibe of a beach soiree. Shoes are optional, enhancing the carefree atmosphere.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase at Surf Café, located at the Beacon Isle Centre in Plettenberg Bay. Sales began on Monday, 13 November. For those unable to attend but still eager to contribute, non-attending tickets are available, accompanied by a special gift parcel as a token of appreciation.
