This was an Opportunity for the Youth a Breakdance Workshop
a breakdance workshop led by the dynamic Mark Davids was held at the New Horizons Community Centre in Plettenberg Bay.
Opportunity for the Youth
The event provided local youngsters with a platform to showcase their breakdancing talent. The inspiring experience emphasised youth development through movement, creativity and connection.
Davids noted that working with the participants had been a true highlight. “Their energy, enthusiasm and heart shone through in every session,” he recalled. He added that it had been wonderful to witness the young people stepping out of their comfort zones, building confidence and supporting one another as they acquired new skills.
“That workshop had not only focused on dance; it had been about empowerment, teamwork and creating a space where young people could thrive and truly shine,” Davids explained. “It marked just the beginning, and we had already been planning similar projects for the future.” He also expressed his deepest gratitude to Bboy Da Vinci, Hip Hop for Jesus and Bboy Jandre for their extraordinary dedication in teaching and inspiring the youth.
Appreciation
Special thanks were extended to Bboy Rhythm and his team from Gqeberha, Lisa Naidoo, Dale Faba, Ashley Williams and Chene Barnado and her team for their invaluable support with accommodation and refreshments. Davids affirmed that their contributions had made the event a resounding success and credited them with helping the movement to grow.
