Voters’ spirits have not been dampened by the rain that started pouring down in Plettenberg Bay. Queues are as long as ever, even though voting has passed the halfway mark.
Some voters and political parties have created a party atmosphere in the streets near voting stations with braaiing, music and dancing.
In Kwanokuthula, at the Phakamisani Primary School voting station in particular, the atmosphere was electric with all political affiliations gathering in the streets to celebrate their right to vote.
Voters have until 21:00 to cast their vote in the local government elections.
