The season has been and gone – there were very varied opinions from the retail sector in Plett as to how busy/quiet it was. We were happy with trading during December so thank you to all who supported us!
This newsletter will be short and sweet …. we ought to have news next month regarding new yarns, etc. Needless to say, our Katia order for Winter has to go in this week …. as always, creates much stress for us to decide which yarns to order, which colours and how many!! Watch this space…
Times for trading:
Monday to Friday: from 10h00 to 16h00 except for Public Holidays which are from 09h30 to 12h30
Saturdays: We will be OPEN every First and Last Saturday from 09h30 to 12h30 (until end March after which Every Saturday for the Winter months):
Specials Now Available:
Because there are so many amazing yarns coming in for this Winter, after a mild panic attack, we decided to calm down and clear some stock to make space!! There are so many fabulous yarns that have been drastically reduced … like Rustica DK and Chunky (selected colours); Liniya dk – all marked down; Kaleido all reduced; Family Knit dk printed – to clear, etc etc. The “Reduced to Clear” basket is overflowing! Perfect opportunity to buy in some stash for a winter project now…
Community Project Programs:
As promised, we are not asking for anything this month (although, should you be driven to creating a blanket for winter for those in need, you are more than welcome!).
Yvette, a hard-working local in the community sent us this email after she needed some blankets urgently (and some yarn for the Ericaville elderly to keep them busy creating).
Hello to all the amazing ladies who make the incredible blankets. Joy often gives them to me for the Victim Support Room at the Police Station and I cannot even find the words to describe what a comfort they are, especially to the children! They just create a little safe surrounding and security for the child and the teddy bear they cuddle that we give them. Each and every blanket is an absolute blessing and I cannot find the words to thank you all! As you sit there and make them, please have a huge smile on your face and joy in your heart for what you are doing. xxx
It’s such a pleasure to help out where we can – thanks for counting on us Yvette!
A regular evening of Crafting Fun:
We are looking at starting a regular, once weekly crafting / social evening, beginning in March 2018, at a restaurant near wool&more. Your input would really be appreciated please: It would include coffee and snacks, would potentially be from 16H30 to 18H30 and would cost around R50 to R60 per evening (all to be finalised). What evening would suit you? Would the time be good – not too late and dark in winter and still time to get home for supper – you could even elect to order supper there and stay a while longer with friends. We thought everyone could bring their own crafts (and share ideas) and from time to time, we would have a visiting someone to give us a talk/lesson. Would be very casual but do need it to become a regular fun evening if it’s to work well.
What other suggestions would you have? Fun, funky name? Themes?
Thanks so much – look forward to hearing from you, near and far.
Brilliantmommy Craft Bags – great line!:
The bags are going well – we even had some ladies buy the waterproof tote for the beach! Stock right here!
Crochet Corner:
Our first consignment of Persian Tiles Blanket kits sold out on order! It is beyond stunning and a really good buy! We are hoping to get another small consignment mid-February so please, please do put your name down and secure your kit soon. And those of you who are already tackling the first kits sold, please do let us know how you are getting along and send some pics!
They will cost R849 and will include the comprehensive pattern and colour chart. We are very happy to exchange colours if required, but only of the Special DK (and not of the Life DK colours included in the kit).
Thanks again Marion for sending us the crocheted beanie pattern that looks just like it is knitted in rib! Here is the link:

B Y O B: Reminder!
Please remember that we are working to get less plastic into the environment – we ask that you please remember to Bring Your Own Bags (BYOB) when shopping at wool&more (and everywhere)…. lovely re-usable fabric bags are the answer and help so much (see above – Brilliantmommy bags will do the trick!). Or, crochet / knit your very own bags! We have some lovely bags to buy at wool&more!
