We had the legend Jason Hartman cooking against Louise and to say it was one of the highlights of our careers is a serious understatement. We had our first of many wedding receptions at offthehook. Louise and our staff did a fantastic job in decorating and the food was fantastic. Please don’t forget to follow us on facebook, twitter and our website – Offthehook Seafood Cafe.

Jason Hartman
On Saturday 9 July, Jason Hartman (Pop Idol’s 2009 winner) came to a cook-off against Louise. Jason cooked a Thai Prawn and Chicken curry and Louise cooked Paella. The evening started with Jason interacting with the audience and then the cooking began.
Jason kept the crowd and Louise entertained for the time it took to cook. Once they had finished cooking he sang an acoustic version of his hit song “Breaking the silence.” It was so special to have him singing at offthehook and it just proved why he is such an unbelievable artist. Louise and Jason then served the main course. The food with extraordinary and the guests really did enjoy the different dishes that were cooked.
They then made beautiful desserts and Jason sang one last song and he was off to his next gig. Special thanks must go to Robberg Fine Foods for supplying the prawns and chicken. Thanks also to Christy from Showme Plett for always going the extra mile to help with taking photos and supporting offthehook.
Please have a look at the following links for the photos taken for the evening:
Offthehook Adventure Series supported by Plett Sports
Offthehook Adventure Series has been going on for a year now and when it first started we had no idea of what the outcome would be… To say the least it has been inspiring, motivating and so much fun. When people start telling you –“When you have children you will know what it feels like to Love!” This is a serious understatement.
Lily-Mae is already 20 months old and every day is a new discovery. “Why is Wayne taking about Children?” get to the point WAYNE!. What I have discovered watching our daughter grow up is that the simple things in life make them happy. Playing in a sand pit is opposed to playing with toys makes her happy. Put her on the swing for 30 minutes and we have the happiest child in the world however putting her inside for the same amount of time and we have ……..well I’ll leave that up to your better judgment. Why all this information?
After watching our daughter I thought what is the purpose of the Offthehook Adventure Series? It is to have an event that is community driven. That kids, young adults and mature adults can have fun. It promotes offthehook and our sponsors. It is simple, exciting and it gets people amped for the next one.
So “Back to the basics” offthehook adventure series is happening. We will be having two more races and they will be the same route as before. Start at offthehook and finish at offthehook. The map below will show the course. LunchBox theatre is also our new beneficiary for the Offthehook Adventure Series and we are very excited to work with Stuart Palmer and his team. Lunchbox theatre and Offthehook would like to have an old bike and old running shoes campaign. We would like to get the kids from Lunchbox theatre to start doing these events, so please email me wayne@offthehookplett.co.za and donate to the cause.
