Here we are only into the second month of the year and already there’s much on the go:
Our work with the WCED
In late August 2012 we and our WCED ECP team colleagues made a presentation to the Eden | Central Karoo District team. Next followed a mid December review of our programmes, along with 2013 to 2015 planning, with the ECP team and our ECD partner Operation Upgrade; we are delighted to report on the most telling of the mutually agreed successes of the first year of this unique agreement. Afterschool Activities kick off
Together with Lunchbox Theatre we have kicked off the year with new classes, more kids and a new school in the programme. Through the dance and drama classes we offer we are able to give children the opportunity to grow, learn, and develop. And the Plett Pioneers Field Band continues to astound, resound, and entertain! School Readiness Criteria for Bitou
Here in Bitou we are committed to action – collaborative action – to prove our children’s true potential when given the right opportunities; and these opportunities begin with adequate school readiness skills. Read more
Learner Support for Inclusive Education
Unless ongoing, comprehensive programmes tackling our children’s learning needs are vigorously and purposefully pursued, we will all be guilty of educational neglect; our current and below par Literacy and Numeracy rates will not be significantly altered and we will continue to fail our children – our Learner Support for Inclusive Education Programme is specifically designed to this end.
