Lisa Extends Lead at SA Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Champs
Lisa Coetzer extended her lead at the South African Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship with a two-under-par 70 in the second round at Port Elizabeth Golf Club, giving her a three-stroke advantage at five-under overall. Despite a challenging front nine, Coetzer capitalized early with birdies on 10, 14, and 17 but dropped shots on three and four.
Kesha Louw, GolfRSA’s top-ranked player, shot a one-under 71 to sit in second place, while Olivia Wood, Lourenda Steyn, and Casey Twidale shared third at one-under after solid rounds. Steyn and Wood carded 70s, while Twidale posted a 72.
Bobbi Brown and Isabella Ferreira, tied for sixth on level-par, had standout rounds, with Ferreira’s three-under 69 being the lowest of the day.
In the Abe Bailey Trophy division, Mogomotsi Sebata led by one stroke at 23-over after a 10-over 82, ahead of Christan Booysen, who shot 83. Chantaylee Visser and Mexico’s Ana Catarina Weber Albaitero shared third at 26-over.
