Lifeguard in motorbike accident
At 15:43 on Saturday, 18 November, NSRI Plettenberg Bay medics responded to Main Street, Plettenberg Bay, where a 19-year-old male was involved in a motorbike accident.
Western Cape Government Health EMS, Bitou Fire and Rescue Services and Medlife ambulance services also responded.
Upon arrival on the scene the teenager, an off-duty Plettenberg Bay lifeguard was treated for a fractured right femur.
He was stabilised on the scene and transported to a hospital in a serious condition by ambulance.
NSRI and the Emergency Services have wished their colleague a speedy recovery.
Then at 22:43 on Sunday NSRI Plettenberg Bay medics responded to Beacon Isle Drive following reports of a motor vehicle accident.
Medlife ambulance services also responded.
On arrival on the scene, an adult male was treated for a neck and head injury and his C-Spine was secured as a precaution.
He was transported to a hospital in a stable condition by ambulance.
