After the Keurbooms river tragedy
Llewellyn drowned last Thursday evening in the river he knew, loved so much, and worked on almost every day.
The overwhelming amount of calls received by Plettenberg Bay Angling Club members from all over the world, expressing condolences and utter disbelief, is a true sign of how much Llewellyn was loved.
His happy disposition and willingness were always felt. And that naughty laugh! How quiet our club will be – we will miss him.
This devastating tragedy will be felt far longer than the chaos thrown at us by the highest flood. Llewellyn, God has a greater plan for you – take his hand and find your peace.
Poor Dawid, not only did you lose three brothers, you lost your wife and young son. We are so, so sorry. Draw strength from the faith and this wonderful community. May your family rest in peace.
Plett NSRI, you guys were amazing. The fact that 90% of you knew Llewellyn well could not have made it easier. You worked way into the night in freezing conditions and muddy water, and were up and out at first light.
Our hearts are broken so we were grateful for the compassion and kindness we were shown. Your new station is great but the true greatness is in the precision. Deon and crew, you can be very proud – thank you.
Alan and Di, Plettenberg Bay Angling Club
