Plett Tourism launches two new promotions as part of ‘Plett it’s worth the wait’ domestic travel strategy
Plett Tourism has launched a domestic travel strategy, Plett it’s worth the wait, to encourage domestic tourism to the Garden Route, and most importantly, to the town of Plett.
The strategy takes a ground regional and niche market approach across Plett Tourism’s social media and content partnerships. Their desire it to connect South Africans with local tourism products and services. Given the enormity of the challenges in front of the tourism and travel trade, they have deliberately taken a bottom ups approach with this strategy to target regional and niche market travel along the Garden Route and from Gauteng for the beginning of 2021.
The strategy includes two campaigns – the SA Residents Accommodation Special Campaign (Discounted rates for SA residents. 15 January – 28 February 2021) and the Children Stay for FREE Campaign (Children 12 and under stay for free, play for free and eat for free at any of our participating establishments. 1 March – 30 April 2021). The target audience for both includes families visiting families and small group travel.
There are two opportunities whereby members can participate.
OPPORTUNITY 1:
Plett Tourism will be hosting a dedicated page on the Plett Tourism website for each campaign. Each participating member will be featured on the respective campaign page with details and information about their special. This page will be generically promoted via Plett Tourism’s social media platforms. This is at no cost to the member.
OPPORTUNITY 2:
Plett Tourism has gone into partnership with a tour operator for members who would like to be included in packaged itineraries for each campaign. This will be at a set cost. Plett Tourism will be facilitating paid promotions for these packaged itineraries. The tour operator will administrate the packages and liaise directly with the products. Participants will also automatically be included in Opportunity 1. As the South African travel and tourism restrictions are lifted, Plett Tourism will be coordinating more campaigns targeted to domestic travel.
