Restructuring for the Differently-Abled
Establishments that have been affected by the covid regulations can restructure their businesses to accommodate the Differently-Abled.
With the holiday season on our doorstep, now would be a great opportunity for restaurants and businesses to consider their differently-abled clientele.
Amidst all the restructuring, the differently-abled are finding it even harder to access certain facilities with ease and care. Ensuring your establishment caters to those who are already feeling alienated and frustrated will bring in an extra source of income.
Ensure your premises caters for the Differently-Abled:
- Offer hand sanitising on entry, and ensure that sanitisers in the restrooms are easily accessible.
- Enact social distancing that includes additional support needs.
- Ensure that equipment handled by clients to obtain information or for physical support is sanitised before and after each session;
- create an alternate, seated queue for the elderly and differently-abled while they wait for take-aways or to be seated.
- Offer a take-away menu and beverages.
Establishments could hire a ‘D-A Buddy’ who could manage and ensure that the differently-abled needs are taken care of.
