On December 1, the Knysna Arts Society members were graciously hosted by Robbie Leggat, a highly acclaimed bronze sculptor, at his foundry near Plettenberg Bay.
The occasion unfolded as an enlightening journey guided by the artist, who showcased his craft’s intricacies and potency—a meticulous five-step process commencing with wax and culminating in the timeless beauty of bronze.
A particular highlight for the visitors was the captivating pouring experience. With masterful precision, Robbie deftly manipulated the crucible, orchestrating the graceful flow of golden liquid into the awaiting ceramic molds. This marked a poignant conclusion to the society’s series of art visits for the year 2023.
