Bitou Municipality Requests Residents to partake in Survey
Residents in Bitou Municipality have been invited to participate in a survey focusing on human and baboon interactions in shared landscapes.
While the survey is open to all Bitou residents, special attention is directed towards those living in the Crags, Nature’s Valley, and Longships/Robberg areas.
This survey is a crucial component of Miila Kauppinen’s PhD project at Wageningen University, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Ruth Kansky from Stellenbosch University and two Dutch supervisors.
The project explores human-baboon interactions in the Plettenberg Bay area, encompassing both ecological and social aspects. The survey seeks residents’ input on their perspectives and behaviors concerning baboons and other wildlife, as well as their approaches to addressing baboon-related issues. The survey typically requires 30-40 minutes to complete.
