Birds of Eden Hiking Trail now open
In a world where nothing is at it seems anymore you must not only think out of the box but have a clear understanding of this new world, we are living in.
One thing is clear…Cabin Fever is a real thing. People are working from home, teaching from home, shopping from home, doing zoom meetings from…yes, you guessed it HOME. You would think that children are immune to this as they have mum/dad home all the time now! But I have it under authority from a pair of 6-year-old twins that they would be happy to move out now and start living on their own!
So, taking all this into account and knowing how much happiness we bring to people at our sanctuaries our eyes and ears stayed open for any potential hint that we might open. Then it happened – Hiking Trails opened! Birds of Eden our 2nd oldest sanctuary has always been our only sanctuary where you do not go on a guided tour and you Hike through our aviary forest on your own.
Once we checked with legal, we found that there is no reason why Birds of Eden could not open. This came as excellent news not only to our marketing department and managers but also our staff who have been very eager to get back to work and back to the animals that they love.
So over the last two weeks, we have been working frantically to get the Birds of Eden sanctuary spic and span with freshly varnished floors, updated curio stores and staff trained in the new Covid-19 world where “Health and Safety” is concerned. Now we can say with comfort and ease that we are ready for you; we are open and we are eager to have you visit us.
The Birds of Eden Hiking trail offers a circular route of 1.2km which can take about an hour, but we recommend taking your time on this hike. The average time we recommend is 1hr 45 minutes and this pace you might be able to spot most of our 200 different species of birds who call this forest their home. During the period of closure, we took the opportunity to release a number of new arrivals into our sanctuary so even if you have been before, there might be something new for you to see.
