Another clean audit for Bitou
The Bitou Municipality has made it a hat trick in terms of financial administration after receiving yet another thumbs up from South Africa’s Auditor-General.
Kimi Makwetu officially gave the small coastal holiday town its third consecutive clean audit during the Western Cape provincial government clean audit awards on April 10.
Before the three recent clean audits the municipality received its last clean bill of health in 1994.
Bitou also contributed to the Western Cape’s success. The province was officially confirmed as the top performing province in the 2015/16 provincial and local audit outcomes during the ceremony.
The province again obtained 100% unqualified audits for a fourth consecutive year.
