Online Comedy Competition
We recently hosted our very first online Stand-Up comedy competition. The competition started on the 1st November finishing on the 1st December. Entries were from: Cape Town, Northern Cape -Kuruman, Soweto (Gauteng Province) Durban (KZN)
Here are the winners in order of winning:
- Vision Munashe Masango originally from Zimbabwe now based in Cape Town
- Aghmad Ismail from Cape town Western Cape
- Neo Masiko from Soweto Gauteng Province
The winners won cash prizes of up to R9500 and received mentorship from the popular, trending South African Comedians namely:
- Ismail Moses
- Mel Jones and
- Ambrose Uren

Artist Managers Online Course
While this amazing opportunity for up-and-coming Comedians was happening live on our Tshisa Talent Facebook page, another opportunity was taking off on the 3rd November 2021. We started the Artist Managers Online workshop which registered twenty participants. The participants were from: Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng province. This was a ten-session introductory course for artist managers, taking place on zoom twice a week for an hour. They learnt the following: Understanding the relationship of an artist manager and the artist, Selecting an artist to work with, Qualities of an artist manager, Marketing &publicity, understanding the recording industry, Legal, contracts, intellectual property etc. The course started on the 3rd November to the 3rd December2021. This course was conducted by Cape Town based company Arte Viva Artist Management.
EMBO: The Journey to the Roots
While the Stand Up Comedy and the Artist Manger workshop was in motion we were gearing up for another exciting journey
This was hosting Ancient Voices& Dizu Plaatjies, a band of three talented musicians doing an introduction workshop to indigenous African music. This started with a two-hour workshop followed by an hour concert featuring the workshop benefactors.
