How to manage baboons and dogs effectively
Safe-guard your dogs from nasty interactions with baboons by knowing how to control the situation.
On occasion baboons that live near humans may naturally come into contact with your dogs. And in some cases, the interactions between baboons and dogs can turn nasty.
Baboons have no reason to hurt dogs unless a dog becomes a threat to them. Baboons are not ‘territorial’ with dogs. When owners set their dogs on a baboon, it’s usually the dog who ends up injured when the baboon responds with aggression to protect itself. Remember, baboons are protected by the law and it is illegal to set your dog on a baboon.
It is also a good idea not to show fear when the baboons are near as your dog will pick up on this fear and its natural pack instinct is to protect you.
