Art, Music & Nature Connected at Plett ARTS Festival 2025
Plettenberg Bay’s annual Plett ARTS Festival returned from 3 to 12 October 2025, transforming the town into a vibrant hub of creativity and cultural exchange. Under the theme “Connect in Plett”, the festival celebrated the intersection of art, music, and nature, drawing locals and visitors alike into a ten‑day wave of immersive experiences.
Each day offered a fresh mix of workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, and Land Art installations, while evenings came alive with performances by singers, dancers, and bands. The Twilight Meander set the tone on opening night, as festivalgoers explored galleries, toasted with bubbly, and snapped up artworks, while children followed Wafi the puppet dog down Main Street.
Highlights included beachfront and pasture Land Art displays, the Perspectives exhibition by Beezy Bailey and Stuart Dods at Barringtons, and a dramatic bronze‑pouring demonstration by sculptor Robert Leggat. Audiences were also treated to a forest concert by Wendy Oldfield, and the festival closed with a sunset jazz performance at The Palms, easing the town into summer.
According to Plett Tourism CEO Patty Butterworth, the festival not only boosted local tourism during the winter–spring transition but also created valuable opportunities for collaboration and exposure among artists. Supported by Wesgro and Bitou Municipality, the event strengthened Plettenberg Bay’s cultural identity along the Garden Route.
With its success, the festival left a lasting impact on the town’s creative spirit. Artists and visitors had already begun booking their places for the next edition, scheduled for 25 September to 4 October 2026.
