What’s showing at the Plett Food Film Festival?
We’re thrilled to announce the feature movies for the 3rd annual Plett Food Film Festival taking place during the winter Plett MAD.
Foodies and film buffs can enjoy a pairing of compelling food and delicious film during the three-day festival between 11 & 13 July 2016.
Les Emotifs Anonymes
Venue: The White House
Directed by Jean-Pierre Ameris, Les Emotifs Anonymes is the story of two socially challenged people finding love in a chocolate factory through their mutual love of chocolate; the film will be paired with an artisanal chocolate fair.
A Good Year
Date: Tuesday 12 July
Venue: The White House
A Good Year, starring Russel Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott, tells the story of a British investment broker who inherits his uncle’s chateau and vineyard in Provence, where he spent much of his childhood. He discovers a new laid-back lifestyle as he tries to renovate the estate to be sold. A Good Year will be served paired with Plett Wines and food pairings.
Like Water for Chocolate
Venue: Emily Moon
Like Water for Chocolate is the story of Tita and Pedro, who fall in love but are forbidden to marry in a forgotten corner of Mexico. Tita’s heart breaks as her mother instead offers to Pedro her other daughter and he accepts. Now they live in the same house and Mama Elena cannot forbid their love as she did their marriage. Emily Moon chefs will cook the delightful recipes from the movie, directed by Alfonso Arau.
