The Plett summer season officially launched
The official Plett Street Lighting ceremony traditionally signals the opening of the Plett Summer Season. This year, the ceremony was held on Sunday the 16th of December.
Close to 1000 spectators arrived on Plett’s Main Street to enjoy a line-up of local talent and performances. These included a street performance by Raul The Owl and music and dance performances by Abantwana, Breezin, Dj Mjilo SA, Enrico Sam, praise singer Fanelekile Langa, the H20 Dance Project, King Melisizwe, the Marimba band, the Riel Dancers, Rumour Has It and the United Music Ambassadors.
The festivities started with a parade down Plett’s Main Street, parade participants included Ms Plett, Mr Plett & 1st Princess, members from the Kwanokuthula Cycling Academy, volunteers from the local NSRI, members of Kwanokuthula CPF on bicycles, volunteers from the Keep Plett Clean Campaign, members of the Plett Sea Scouts and the Crags Drill Squad, and most importantly for the children – Mncedisi Ncedani as Father Christmas.
The launch was officiated by our special guest, Bitou Municipal Deputy Mayor Sandiso Gcabhayi.
