SA Tourism invites participation in Sho’t Left during Tourism Month
in partnership with TBCSA, would like to extend an invitation to all businesses in the travel industry to participate in our inaugural Sho’t Left Travel Week.
SHOT LEFT TRAVEL WEEK 24-30 SEPTEMBER
This platform will form part of our contribution to Tourism Month, where we endeavour to galvanize the entire sector to unite behind making it easier for every South African to explore the wonders of our country.
As the UNWTO theme for Tourism Month is about digital transformation, we have put together a microsite platform, on which we would like our domestic travel trade players to partner with us, and list discounted deals in the range of 30% to 50%. The validity period of deals will be at your own discretion.
By putting tourism experiences on ‘sale’ we hope to ramp up travel activities for the benefit of yourself, especially during off-peak seasons; to South Africans and ultimately, to our economy.
We are aware of the financial constraints our countrymen are currently facing and want to use Sho’t Left Travel Week as a platform that will demonstrate how the tourism sector is critical to getting our economy back on track.
As a participant, you will be required to register all the necessary information regarding your deals on a dedicated microsite. The link to the microsite will be sent to you in the next 10 days. Once you have registered you will be able to access a comprehensive toolkit designed to provide you with all the necessary elements needed to showcase your participation and drive consumers to your booking platforms. All bookings will be managed by yourself and South African Tourism will aim to provide extensive marketing to encourage South Africans to book. We also urge you, once registered, to maximize your own marketing efforts to ensure a successful Sho’tleft Travel Week. Please note that bookings should only be made from 24-30 September.
We will be launching Sho’t Left week during the Tourism Month Media Launch in Tsitsikamma on 14 August where Minister Derek Hanekom will also highlight those of you who have already confirmed participation.
We look forward to working with you to ensure positive growth of our local travel economy.
Kind regards,
Melanie Leloup
