Plettenberg Bay is Proudly a Fireworks Free Town
Suzarne Ally van Jaarsveld has been notified by the Explosives Unit that the ‘No Fireworks Petition and Appeal’ has once again been recorded and accepted.
Kindly note that the Petition against the issue of any permit to any entity in Plettenberg Bay to discharge fireworks or hold fireworks displays including the discharge of low noise/noise-free fireworks, was once again filed for 2020 and forwarded to the Explosives Unit in Mosselbay and Head Office in Pretoria.
Discharging fireworks as a form of celebration is an unkind and an extremely cruel inhumane practice and should never be allowed to happen ever again. Furthermore, it is stipulated in the Law that no person or entity is permitted to terrorise animals in any way.
No fireworks display is worth the FEAR, PAIN & SUFFERING the pets and other animals have to endure during NYE, Guy Fawkes and Halloween celebrations.
“YOUR JOY, THEIR PAIN – YOUR FUN, THEIR SORROW – YOUR DELIGHT, THEIR LIFE”
“Pets and other animals do not have a voice, but as a community we do‼
“As South Africans from all spheres of life, we need to teach our nation how to have more compassion for the suffering of pets and other animals, and I feel that stopping the atrocity of discharging fireworks and a complete ban on the sale thereof, is a good place to start.
“Mahatma Gandhi famously said that the moral progress of a nation and its greatness can be judged by how it treats its animals, furthermore that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection.
“No fireworks display is worth the FEAR, PAIN & SUFFERING the pets and other animals have to endure.” Explains Suzarne Ally van Jaarsveld.
