Plett Women Fight back
Women across South Africa joined forces and wore black on the 31st August 2019, in aid of SA Women Fight Back, to raise awareness about the violence that women are being subjected to on a daily basis.
The Plett team, administrated by Kim Lee, gathered at The Heath for an hour to show their support and to walk the tranquil Lavender maze, whilst meditating on all the names of all the deceased that were displayed along the path.
The SA Women Fight Back Campaign is not about blaming or hating men. The platform was created as a safe environment for women to share, express and heal from their stories of abuse, violence, and murder. With over 130 000 members in a very short space of time, it is apparent that the people of South Africa have been silent for too long. Allowing the situation to get out of control.
The stories are telling of a society that is deeply affected by abuse and the lack of support. SA Women Fight Back members have volunteered to stand by these women and children to ensure that justice prevails.
We cannot bring back the deceased, nor change the past, but we can stand together to create a better future for all.
