Hospitality-trade-fair-a-first-for-plett
Plettenberg Bay’s first hospitality trade fair will take place later this month when local businesses will be able to showcase their products.
Hosted by the Plett Accommodation Association (PAA), the Plett Hospitality Trade Fair is scheduled for 29 August at the Piesang Valley Hall.
Plett Tourism spokesperson Patty Butterworth says the fair would include more than 20 selected tourism and travel trade vendors from along the Garden Route to showcase their ware. Confirmed products include linen, beds and bedding, amenities, coffee, crockery, cutlery, appliances and hospitality training institutions.
“As the PAA represents stakeholders in the tourism industry in and around the Garden Route, assisting the various sectors of the industry by hosting an exhibition day where various local businesses can showcase their particular products, is a passion,” Butterworth says.
The event is also set to provide assistance to charity.
Butterworth says the PAA would be affording the Plett StreetSmart programme an opportunity to bring to the fore the good work they are doing for homeless and impoverished children in the area.
Proceeds of coffee sales and a silent auction will be presented to Plett StreetSmart as part of the PAA’s social responsibility programme.
