Christmas treat for Formosa Primary Differently-Abled class
The Formosa Primary School class of differently-abled children were treated to a Christmas outing at MacFee Plett on the 30th of November 2021.
Class teacher, Charmaine Hechter collaborated with Rita Hardaker and her son Etienne Van Rensburg from the Differently-Abled Awareness Campaign in an effort to treat the scholars for Christmas.
Rita presented each child with a Father Xmas treat which was well received by the children.
“All these children are differently-abled in some way or another and I felt overjoyed by how appreciative they all were, regardless of their conditions,” explained Rita.
“The children were transported to MacFee, which is above Mugg & Bean, where they enjoyed tasty pizzas and cooldrinks. Needless to say, once they were done they spent the rest of their time enjoying the many fun activities available for children.
“I still feel weepy especially for the children who cannot see. It was so heartwarming to witness the pure, real joy experienced by a child who cannot see.”
The children had so much fun on their outing and a big thank you went out to Charmaine Hetcher, the MacFee Plett owners, Fiona and Mike, Etienne van Rensburg and Rita Hardaker for their great hearts and effort.
